Faults
A curtain that sticks, a dead motor, or a solar panel that has been painted. 12 guides.
FaultA broken belt
Strap winders fray, and the spring box fails. Replacing a strap is a known repair.
FaultA curtain that hangs out of square
The opening was out of square or the axle was not level. Manufacturing to a single width when the reveal varies will do this.

Radio motors can usually be paired to a new control if you can still put the motor into programming mode. That mode is sometimes a button on the motor.
FaultA motor that clicks and does not move
A click can be a limit, a thermal cut-out after too many attempts, or a failed capacitor on an older wired motor. Leave it alone for a while if it has.

Stop pressing the button. Note whether it stopped with a jerk, a grind or a silence.
FaultA shutter that stops short or slams
End limits drift, especially after a power cut or a clumsy reset. The curtain should meet the sill and stop, not bounce or hang 40 mm up.

Look at the panel first: paint, a new porch, bird mess, a winter sun that never reaches it. Then the connections in the box, if you were shown them and.

A frozen guide will stop a motor and, if you insist, will damage the motor or the slat locks. Leave it until it thaws, or free it the way the maker.

A warm box with a slot is a hotel. Bees, wasps and the odd bird show up.

A little movement is normal. A chatter that keeps the bedroom awake is loose guides, missing brushes or a curtain with too much side float.

A curtain that shifts sideways will jam. It can be a guide clearance, a missing end clip or a previous forced movement.

Water running off a cassette and down the brick is a drip detail. It marks pale render and painted walls.
